Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced on Thursday that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will lay the foundation stone and perform the "Bhoomi Pujan" for the state-of-the-art BRAHMA (BEML Rail Hub for Manufacturing) facility on August 10 in Obaidullaganj, Raisen district, located about 25 km from Bhopal. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will also attend the ceremony, while Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw will join virtually. The Rs 1,800-crore project, spread over 60.0630 hectares in Umaria village, will manufacture and supply railway and metro coaches for domestic use and export, creating direct and indirect employment for over 1,500 people. The facility will produce coaches for Vande Bharat, Amrit Bharat, and metro trains, while also boosting ancillary industries in Bhopal and Raisen districts, significantly contributing to the state's economy.
Yadav emphasized that the project aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of promoting "swadeshi" (indigenous manufacturing) and strengthening India’s economic self-reliance. In a separate development, the CM revealed that PM Modi will perform the ‘Bhoomi Pujan’ for the ‘PM MITRA Textile Park’ in Dhar on August 25. With an investment of Rs 2,000 crore in the ready-made garments sector, the textile park is expected to generate employment for over one lakh youth, particularly from tribal regions. These initiatives underscore the central and state governments’ commitment to industrial growth and job creation in Madhya Pradesh. The rail coach factory, in particular, marks a significant step in enhancing the region’s manufacturing capabilities and infrastructure development.
