"Mind Your Words": Court Blasts Minister for Disrespecting Army Officer…….

A court strongly criticized a Madhya Pradesh  Government’s sitting minister, Vijay Shah, for using offensive language against an Army’s Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, calling the remarks "gutter language" and unacceptable. The minister had made disrespectful comments about the officer, sparking outrage.  The court emphasized that public officials must maintain dignity and avoid insulting those who serve the nation. The judge stated that such language undermines discipline and morale in the armed forces. 

The case began after the Colonel filed a complaint against the minister for using abusive words during an official discussion. The court’s sharp rebuke has drawn attention to the need for civility in public discourse.  Many have welcomed the court’s stance, saying ministers should be held accountable for their words. The Army, known for its discipline and sacrifice, expects respect from all, including politicians. 

The minister has not yet responded, but the ruling sends a clear message: insulting armed forces personnel will not be tolerated. The court has urged leaders to choose their words carefully and uphold the dignity of national institutions.
